If you had to give one life-changing tip, what would it be?
Not to compare yourself to others, because you’ll be miserable if your life goes differently than that person you’re wanting to emulate.
There is this YouTuber that I follow with 93,000 plus subscribers, and she thinks she’s a failure.
She said in her latest YouTube video that she no longer cares about her follower count, after years of obsessing over it, but to her audience on Patreon, she’s still mentions other people that started after her, have a larger following, and has the success she envisioned for herself. She’s unhappy with her tenure online, but she can’t quit content creation just yet, because she wasn’t successful in her previous working roles and doesn’t have a career to fall back on, despite graduating having a university degree.
From my POV, having nearly 100,000 subscribers with one viral video and no mainstream success is an accomplishment in itself. She’s able to live off her YouTube and Patreon money and be home bound with her dogs. But she doesn’t see it that way, and it’s sad to see as someone who’s a Patreon supporter of her’s.
